It seems nothing can stop Soul Mavericks in their blazing path of victory. No more than a month after qualifying for "Battle of the Year," Soul Mavericks have won another competition.

On Sunday night at Quake nightclub in Woking, crews gathered for the southern qualifying stage of the Regional Conflicts to battle in order to gain a place in the July heats. In total, 9 crews turned up hoping to be the crew that represents the UK against the world's best breakers.

The lino was laid down in the popular night club dance floor, which may offer a lot in terms of having different balconies to view the action, but not a lot in terms of floor space for the audience to sit and view it, making difficult viewing for some, with people squeezing to find space on balconies or climbing the stairwell bannisters for a look.

Nevertheless, the action continued on the floor without a hitch. Crews knocked out in the rounds humbly took out any frustration of losing in a separate cypher next to the main floor. The judging was fair and accurate too, with no disagreement from the audience.

A showcase in the middle of proceedings from THe PETEBOX had the club in awe as he demonstrated a looped instrumental. People looked both amazed and confused, while b-boys used the opportunity to use the alternative jams while freestyling in their cyphers.

Soul Mavericks, La Familia and New Found Motions will go through to the knock out stages on July 12th at the O2 Islington Academy.
