We're Excited About Lyrix Organix: Emergence

Lyrix Organix is an event we're excited about, with reason to be confident. Bookmark and Share

When: 8pm, Wednesday June 9

Where: Old Queen’s Head, Islington, N1 8LN (map)

Price: £5

After a successful three day run at the Brighton Fringe Festival, Lyrix Organix will be doing a one-off night of eclectic variety performances before its bigger projects planned at Rich Mix and Rising Styles.

The night will consist of hip hop and poetry joined with acoustic music.

Best described as grassroots hip hop, if you can excuse the pun, Lyrix Organix champions the intellectual music fan with an open mind. If you enjoyed any of the shows featured in the related articles box, right, then Lyrix Organix should be right up your street.

Camilo Tirado, a Southbank EAR artist and Ed Sheeran will be providing acoustics, Sarah Sayeed and Louise Golbey with a touch of jazz, and poetry from two artists readers of TooMuchFlavour may recognise.

Rob Broderick starred in Markus the Sadist, as did Maxwell Golden, Slam Poetry champion renowned for his spoken word at Jonzi D's Hip Hop Surgery, plus appeared as a guest judge for Live Vibe.

Vid Warren, who is a beatboxing act who impressed us at his self titled show at the Ritzy, Brixton, has had to cancel last minute.
